Paul McCartney, Zach Braff and Russell Crowe may not seem to have a lot in common, but all three are only a handful of celebrities who have been victims of death hoaxes, causing uproar around the world.

Crowe, the latest actor affected by bogus news, was reported to have fallen to his death off of a mountain in Austria. The news was reported by the New York City radio station, Z100, and quickly became a trending topic on Twitter. The rumors were quickly stomped by Crowe himself, as he tweeted, "Unable to answer tweets fell off a mountain in Austria, all over red rover. Don’t know how i got there, but the media are never wrong. G’Bye." –ELENA COX

    Where would someone come up with something like this? I wonder where Z100 heard it…or if they made it up themselves….

    I wouldn't blame some of these people for faking their deaths just to be left alone.. Just think, he could live out the rest of his life disguised as a fireman (the helmets offer a lot of coverage.)
