Rep. Matt Gaetz Attended A Drug-Fueled Sex Party In 2017 Where Teen Was Present, New Court Filing Claims

New court filings claim that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) attended a party in 2017 that involved underage sex and drug use. 

On Thursday night, the legal documents were filed and disclosed to the public in Florida.

According to a report from NOTUS, Gaetz is accused of attending “a drug-fueled sex party in 2017 with the 17-year-old girl at the center of” his alleged sex trafficking charge in the filing.

The NOTUS report stated that the minor, who was a junior in high school at the time, “arrived in her mother’s car for a July 15, 2017 party at the Florida home of Chris Dorworth, a lobbyist and friend of Gaetz, according to a court filing written by defense attorneys who interviewed witnesses as part of an ongoing civil lawsuit Dorworth brought in 2023.”

While Dorworth dropped the lawsuit, his lawyers listed the accusations in the filing as part of their attempts to recover legal fees that were still due.

The lobbyist also claimed that he was unfairly dragged into the sex trafficking scandal. 

The affidavits, which include testimony from three eyewitnesses, were filed to discredit the claims before Dorworth suddenly dropped the lawsuit this month.

A young woman provided an affidavit that claimed the teenage girl was naked, partygoers were there to “engage in sexual activities,” and drugs were available. 

This is the first time that sworn testimony was referenced in public court filings asserting that Gaetz went to one of the alleged parties associated with a rumored underage sex scandal.

The House Ethics Committee revealed in June that it will continue investigating the accusations against the Florida representative, including for sexual misconduct as well as illegal drug use.

The statement said that there had been a “significant and unusual amount of public reporting on the Committee’s activities this Congress” and that “much of that reporting has been inaccurate.”

The panel did not disclose which accusations against Gaetz it is investigating and which were dropped. 

After speaking with over a dozen witnesses and reviewing thousands of documents, the committee announced that some allegations needed further analysis and “identified additional allegations.”
