Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Press Conference Outside Of Steve Bannon’s Prison Halted After Interruptions From Protesters & Cowbells

Due to frequent disturbances from protesters, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) ended her press conference outside of former White House aide Steve Bannon’s prison in Danbury, Connecticut.

Greene spoke outside the federal prison hours before Bannon was scheduled to serve his four-month sentence after being convicted of contempt of Congress.

During the press conference, she was frequently interrupted by protesters who shouted obscenities.

A sign behind her read “Bleach blonde bad built butch body,” an insult that she received from Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) on May 16 during a House Oversight meeting.

“And the ruling party with the power is locking up their political enemies and political opponents, and this is all election meddling – it’s election interference,” she claimed. “It absolutely shouldn’t happen.”

During the press conference, she also noted that “there were many others who didn’t follow the subpoena” and did not receive prosecution like Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pennsylvania).

Greene also stated later on in the conference that “everything needs to be equal and fair” in the House of Representatives.

As she gave concluding notes, the congresswoman pointed out the cowbell interrupting her.

“Anybody else, or are they enjoying more cowbell?” Greene asked.

The press conference ended right after she made this comment.

In late June, Greene got into a social media war with drag artist Brigitte Bandit, who went on social media to clarify her gender identity and challenge the representative’s misinformed rhetoric.

Greene took to social media to criticize a clip of Bandit.

The congresswoman said that what was “scary is men pretending to be women reading gender cult lying books to our children, provocatively dancing nearly nude in public spaces, and taking over our bathrooms, sports, and private spaces,” adding that “women and children need protection from them.”

The drag artist quickly went to X to say that she was “born female and not a man” and that Greene was “just proving that gender is socially constructed and have no idea what you’re talking about and why you should have no say in our lives.”
