Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) said that House Speaker Mike Johnson no longer has the respect of House GOP members.

Greene said this to former Rep. Dave Brat (R-Virginia) during an appearance on Steve Bannon’s War Room over the weekend.

Brat has been guest-hosting for Bannon, who is currently in jail. He asked the Georgia representative if Johnson could get the House GOP behind his attempts to stave off a government shutdown.

“Well, he has immense power, but this is a different situation,” Greene told the Virginia representative. “The speaker has lost the respect of the conference, and it’s not out there in the public for everyone to see because we’re trying to hold it together, and we’re trying to win on November 5.”

“But it’s a lot different on the inside than it appears on the outside, Dave,” she added. “And yes, typically, the speaker has tremendous power to wield over his members and can get members to vote a certain way.”

Greene recently called for “more good guys with guns” to protect children after Colt Gray opened fire at Apalachee High School in Barrow County, Georgia, and killed two students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, and two teachers, Richard Aspinwall and Christina Irimie.

In early September, the representative got into a heated argument with right-wing political activist Laura Loomer over racist comments that the activist made about the vice president.
