Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) is being criticized for demanding California officials manipulate the weather to end the Los Angeles wildfires.
On Sunday morning, Greene made this demand in an X post: “Why don’t they use geoengineering like cloud seeding to bring rain down on the wildfires in California? They know how to do it.”
The Georgia representative’s demand was soon met with backlash from other users on the platform.
“I thought [Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado)] was the dumbest member of Congress,” one user wrote. “I think MTG takes the top spot.”
“Why don’t you ever look s— up before you open your dumb– mouth,” another asked on the platform.
“I swear, a basic literacy and competency test must be instituted for Congress. We should call it the Margery Taylor Green Dumba– Rule,” still another said.
However, there were other users who merely disproved her theory about cloud seeding.
“It doesn’t work like that,” one user said. “They can’t just manufacture rain out of thin air.”
“It only works when there is an existing cloud, one that already has some moisture in it,” another shared.
Greene is no stranger to social media controversies. In a now-deleted Facebook post in November 2018, Greene claimed that the California wildfires at the time might have been caused by “Jewish space lasers” connected to the Rothschild family.
After a 4.8-magnitude earthquake hit the New York City and New Jersey areas on April 5, 2024, the congresswoman called the quake a sign from God.
She posted to X after the earthquake, begging Americans “to repent.”
