Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Claims Without Evidence That The FBI Wanted To ‘Assassinate’ Trump

GOP Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) wrote in a social media post that the Biden Administration’s Justice Department tried to “assassinate” former President Donald Trump in a new social media post that shows an escalation in her use of radical language.

The post seems to have started with a statement Trump made on Truth Social, where he claimed without evidence that the Department of Justice “AUTHORIZED THE FBI TO USE DEADLY (LETHAL) FORCE” during the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago in August 2022. The search found scores of boxes of classified documents illegally stored at the residence.

Greene went with the former president’s baseless accusation.

“I made sure that he knew,” Greene wrote on X. “The Biden DOJ and FBI were planning to assassinate Pres Trump and gave the green light. Does everyone get it yet???!!!! What are Republicans going to do about it? I tried to oust our Speaker who funded Biden’s DOJ AND FBI, but Democrats stopped it.”

This is not the first time Greene has claimed Trump is in danger.

“[Trump] is not invincible,” Greene noted during an interview with Alex Jones on Infowars on April 23. “He is a man. [Trump]’s fighting as hard as possible – he’s putting all he has into trying to win the election.”

“But you also got to remember; he’s – at the same time he’s trying to run for president again, he’s having to put everything he has into defending himself against these rigged trials and this unbelievable perversion of our justice system,” she mentioned. “And the Democrats aren’t sorry about it. They aren’t gonna back off of what they are doing. They literally want him dead.”

“[Mississippi Rep.] Bennie Thompson introduced a bill to take away his Secret Service protection,” the Georgia Representative stated. “That’s how serious they are. They want President Trump dead. They want to lock him up in jail for the rest of his life so that he dies in jail, and they want to take away his Secret Service protection so that he is murdered somewhere in jail, possibly.”

Greene was referring to a bill proposed by Thompson last month that would strip the Secret Service of protection from convicted felons.

He introduced the Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act.

This bill targets people convicted of felonies with jail sentences of one year or more. Since Republicans currently hold the majority, it is unlikely this bill will pass through the House.

Greene’s rhetoric has become increasingly unhinged in recent days. Last week, she insulted Rep. Jasmine Crockett‘s eyelashes during a House hearing.
