Reese Witherspoon championed the ‘Ask Her More’ campaign at the Oscars on Sunday night, while also showing off her custom Tom Ford gown on the red carpet.

Reese Witherspoon #AskHerMore

Witherspoon, who was nominated for her leading role in Wild, gave her support to the ‘Ask Her More’ (#AskHerMore) campaign prior to the show with a post on Instagram writing that, while she is more than happy to answer the classic ‘Who are you wearing?’ question, she would also enjoy answering more challenging questions. “There are so many amazing, talented nominees this year! Let’s hear their stories,” Witherspoon wrote.

On the red carpet, ABC’s Robin Roberts asked Witherspoon about the campaign, and the actress summed up the social media campaign, saying, “This is a movement to say we’re more than just our dresses.” Witherspoon added that the movement is not meant to belittle the work of designers featured on the red carpet, but more to celebrate the work women in Hollywood are doing instead of just what they are wearing. “It’s great, the dresses are beautiful, we love all the artists that make these clothes, but…this is a group of women – 44 nominees this year, Robin, that are women. And we are so happy to be here and talk about the work that we’ve done. It’s hard being a woman in Hollywood or any industry, so it’s exciting for me to get to talk to other nominees about all the hard work they did,” Witherspoon concluded. Witherspoon also dished about her beautiful, blue Tom Ford dress, which set her apart as one of the few attendees wearing color on the red carpet.
