Reese Witherspoon, 47, and Jim Toth, 52, announced in a joint statement on Friday that they would be ending their marriage.
This comes just days before the couple’s 12-year anniversary.

Witherspoon shared the news on her Instagram, writing, “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”
The Oscar winner later added that their priority was to take care of their son and family. The divorce is reportedly “amicable.”
The couple married in March 2011. They share a 10-year-old son Tennessee James. Witherspoon also shares two children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe – daughter Ava, 23, and son Deacon, 19.
In a 2012 interview, Witherspoon spoke about the time she first met Toth at a friend’s house after her breakup with Jake Gyllenhaal. A drunk man was hitting on her before Toth walked over to them and said, “Please excuse my friend. He’s just broken up with someone.” She called Toth a “really good friend” for saving the situation.
Witherspoon last posted a photo of Toth on January 1 that showed her, Toth and Tennessee at the beach. However, she has made many public appearances without Toth since then, including the premiere of Daisy Jones & The Six, the Prime Video series that she helped produce.
