Reese Witherspoon and Salma Hayek both stunned at Variety‘s Power Of Women luncheon in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Witherspoon attended the event at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in a white Balenciaga dress with Christian Louboutin ‘Benedetta’ sandals.
Hayek, who was honored at the event, gave a speech that touched on the sexism in Hollywood and how actresses of her generation are challenging it more than ever before.
“We are the generation that said, ‘We’re not going away at 30.’ They cannot ignore us anymore,” Hayek said to applause. “In the 20 years I have been an activist for women, I can smell the airs of change, especially in this industry for the first time.”
“These romantic comedies are not working anymore. Why? We changed!,” Hayek added to more applause. “I think that this is the true part of equality.”
Among those impressed with what Hayek had to say was Witherspoon, who also praised the event’s other speakers – YouTube’s Susan Wojcicki, Oprah Winfrey, Gwyneth Paltrow and Anna Kendrick.
“I watched these incredible women speak at @Variety’s 2015 #PowerOfWomen luncheon and was floored by their sincere dedication and passion to change the world,” Witherspoon captioned a picture of the group. “Watch their speeches via the link in my bio for some serious #MondayMotivation….and find out how you can get involved too!! #MakeChange #PowerOfWomen.”
