Robert Redford launched the 25th annual Sundance Film Festival, the top independent movie showcase, on Thursday with a warning to young filmmakers. Indy directors even at Sundance, which has started the careers of Quentin Tarantino and Steven Soderbergh, are threatened by the weak economy. "If you want to come into this business, you need to want it more than anything else in life because it's going to be a hard road," Redford told a news conference. As for prospects for increased arts funding in the new Obama Administration, Redford said: "I believe we can't get any worse than we've had." (Photo: WENN)
