In the last of its four audition episodes, the US version of the The X Factor went to San Francisco and… Newark? The crew of judges touched down in New Jersey to send a kid rapper, a 16-year-old Mary J. Blige cover artist, a Nashville hunk and a few others on to the next round.

The first "yes" of the night went to Brian Bradley, 14, who rapped about his mom. "All the years I was there, I was looking for you. I'm the luckiest guy in the world that you walked in today. Television, film, records — you can do it if you set your mind to it," gushed judge L.A. Reid about the time he spent scoping out new talent at Def Jam.

The next to win support from the judges was Jazzlyn Little, 16, who covered Blige's "I'm Going Down." Judge Nicole Scherzinger encouraged viewers, many of whom stood up to cheer for Little's big voice, to check out the artist on YouTube.

Brennin Hunt, 26, got some positive praise from judge Simon Cowell, though the music producer admitted that Hunt needed the right advice to become a great artist. "You were primed to be on this show," Paula Abdul said. "Ladies, is he hot?" wondered L.A. Reid. Apparently, they think yes.
