RECAP: 'The Walking Dead' Worlds Collide In Zombie Apocalypse Drama

This week’s episode of AMC’s zombie apocalypse drama The Walking Dead, “Hounded,” was one of two worlds colliding: the prison and Woodbury.

Last week, Michonne (Danai Gurira) fled Woodbury, where the Governor (David Morissey) was holding brutal zombie-human death matches for fun. This episode, Michonne fled through the woods with the Governor’s men, led by Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker), hot on her tracks. Michonne was able to fend off most of them and escape, however the same can't be said for Glen (Steven Yeun) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan).

Michonne looked on to see Glen and Maggie, who went into down to procure baby formula for the newborn who may or may not be the child of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), captured by Merle. Merle wanted them to take him to see his brother, Daryl (Norman Reedus), but when they refused, Merle dragged them back to the Woodbury to meet the Governor. Ah yes, the Governor. The latest development with him is that he began sleeping with Andrea (Laurie Holden), formally of the Rick Grimes and co. band of misfits. Where do her alliances lie now?

In other news, Daryl found an injured Carol (Melissa McBride), who was initially suspected to be dead after the zombies overran the prison, and brought her back to the group. And Rick, who ended the last episode by answering a mysterious phone call, found himself two quick stops from crazy town, as it turned out there was no one on the other line and he was just hearing voices in his head, including that of his recently dead wife, Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies). The episode concluded with Michonne, covered in zombie goo, walking up to the prison gates and meeting Rick.

Only two more episodes remain in this season of The Walking Dead, the show’s third. So stay tuned to see the fate of your favorite characters!

The Walking Dead airs on AMC, Sundays at 9 p.m. EST.
