NBC's The Voice took a giant leap forward on Tuesday as four semi-finalists were eliminated and four were sent to the finals. Lindsey Paveo of Team Christina, Katrina Parker of Team Adam, Erin Willett of Team Blake and Jamar Rogers of Team Cee Lo were eliminated from the singing competition, while Chris Mann, Juliet Simms, Tony Lucca and Jermaine Paul were told that they were finalists.

Before any results were announced, however, Season 1 contestant Dia Frampton performed "Don't Kick the Chair" along with Kid Cudi. Then, host Carson Daly explained the complicated scoring calculations. Basically, each singer receives a composite score totalling points given by his or her coach and the percentage of votes each singer received from TV audiences.

Mann, from Team Christina, was the first finalist to be named, thanks to America's votes, as Aguilera had decided to leave the decision in their hands. Another first season contestant returned to the stage next: Vicci Martinez was joined by her old coach Green to sing "Come Along," also the name of Martinez's newly released EP.

Lucca was the next finalist to be named, beating out Parker for the only spot for Team Adam, followed by a performance by Beverly McClellan and Cyndi Lauper of Lauper's song "Money Changes Everything." Afterwards, last season's winner Javier Colon played the piano while singing his new single, "A Drop in the Ocean."
