RECAP: Breaking Bad's Tanker Train Heist
It's no secret that Vince Gilligan's Breaking Bad is getting darker, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) is getting crazier and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) is getting closer to finding out the truth about his best friend / worst enemy. Sunday night's episode continued along the set trajectory, as our favorite crystal meth-dealing drug lords executed a heist with newcomer Lydia (Laura Fraser) as their trusted informant.
In order to save her own skin, Lydia revealed how Walt, Jesse and Mike (Jonathan Banks) could get "oceans" of the precious methylamine that's required to cook their goods. An intricate plan, a train tanker car, and a few necessary casualties later, the trio accomplished their nefarious task in the episode, entitled "Dead Freight."
In the meantime, Hank's (Dean Norris) suspicion of his morally questionable brother-in-law mounted, with him commenting on Walt's "new car, new watch," employing that continuously perplexing mixture of suspicion and nonchalance that Norris has mastered across the past four seasons, keeping both Walt and the audience on their toes.
You can catch Breaking Bad Sunday nights at 10 p.m. on AMC.
