Rebecca Black Recording Second Single

Following her horrifically mesmerizing debut single "Friday," tween sensation Rebecca Black is back at it again. The 13-year-old is currently recording a second single at Flying Pig Productions in Los Angeles, reports NME. Black is still unsigned by any major label, but hopes that will change with her new song "LOL," a reference to the popular Internet abbreviation, and possibly a message to all of her haters out there. "People were saying, 'You're the worst singer, this is the worst song'," she told Britain’s The Sun. "They criticized my voice and the lyrics. But I call them negative Nancies. They can try to rain on my parade but as far as I'm concerned they are raining on their own parade."

In an era of Britney and Miley, Black defends her tame tunes, which celebrate simplistic pleasures like counting down to the weekend. To the aspiring singer, these lyrics are a reflection of who she really is at this point in her life. "I like the fact I am singing like a 13-year-old girl, not trying to be anything else," she said. "I would consider some [songs on the album] teenage love songs but I want to keep it appropriate and clean." We'll see how long this lasts. —EMILY EXTON
