‘Real Housewives’ Star Luann De Lesseps To Divorce From Tom D’Agostino After 7 Months

Luann de Lesseps, one of the stars of Real Housewives of New York City, has announced her divorce from Tom D’Agostino.

The reality star posted the announcement on Twitter on Thursday after only seven months of marriage. “It’s with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce,” the 52-year-old wrote. “We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!”

Their short-lived marriage was rife with upset, including evidence of Tom’s infidelity, which was discussed on season 9 of the hit show. News of divorce comes just two weeks after the couple had a very public spat during which Luann allegedly slapped D’Agostino across the face. Luann, however, denies that claim.

“I did not slap him,” she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. “We have a very passionate love affair going. We never go to bed angry but when we do, when we wake up, we make up. That’s the best part.”

Luann’s Real Housewives co-stars spoke out in support of their friend on social media and in interviews. “I told Luann I’m there for her whether this worked out or not and here I am,” Sonja Morgan told E! News. “Men come and go, and at the end of the day, we have our girlfriends, don’t we? I wanted it to work out, but I want her to know I’m here for her.”

“My heart breaks for her,” added Ramona Singer. “Luann went into this wanting to make it work. I’ve never seen her happier.”

De Lesseps and D’Agostino got engaged in February 2016 and were married the following New Year’s Eve. It was the first marriage for D’Agostino, 50, and the second for de Lesseps, who was married to French Count Alexandre de Lesseps for 16 years before splitting in 2009. They share two adult children.
