The Real Housewives of Atlanta might be casting Amiyah Scott to replace NeNe Leakes who left the show in June. This would make Scott the first transgender cast member on the reality show.
After eight years on the show, Leakes decided to quit, and has instead joined the ABC variety series To Tell the Truth. If Scott is cast she will be part of season eight of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Scott, 27, has openly spoken about her transition through social media. Not only is Scott a transgender model, but she describes herself as “The Unicorn with an invisible horn,” a makeup guru and a weaveologist on her Twitter profile. She also offers makeup advice to her followers via her website.
Scott’s role on the show has yet to be determined.
Though Bravo has declined to comment on these rumors, inside sources told Variety that Scott attended an event on Monday night with the cast where they were filming scenes for the upcoming season.
