Carlos Walker, a.k.a. the rapper Shawty Lo, was killed in a fiery car accident in Atlanta, Georgia, earlier this week.

Shawty Lo Fatal Car Accident

Walker, 40, was killed on a one-car accident at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. The rapper’s Audi had crashed through a highway guardrail, rolling over on a ramp and hit a pair of trees. Walker was ejected from the vehicle, and died of “blunt force trauma to the head,” according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner.

There had been two female passengers in Walker’s car, which caught fire after the accident. The women, Destini Carter and Deshondria Miller, were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Walker’s death was confirmed Wednesday by his manager through his Twitter account. “My brother has passed he is no longer here but his spirit, his kind heart , and his music will live on Long live Shawty Lo King of Bankhead,” the tweet read.

Among Walker’s best known singles are “Dey Know,” “Laffy Taffy,” “Betcha Can’t Do It Like Me” and “Foolish.”
