Rapper Torrence Hatch, otherwise known as Lil Boosie, is already serving a four-year sentence behind bars for drug possession, gun possession and parole violation, but now he can add one count of criminal conspiracy to take contraband to and from a penal institution to his long list of legal woes.
Lil Boosie, whose fourth studio album, Incarcerated, was released last year, was indicted for allegedly conspiring to smuggle codeine syrup into the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, where he is serving his term, reports StarPulse.com. He was also hit with a second charge of inciting a felony. This marks the second time in two months that he's attempted to bring drugs into the prison.
Lil Boosie is also set to stand trial in August for a first-degree murder charge relating to a 2009 Louisiana shooting, a crime to which he pleaded not guilty. If convicted of the new drug smuggling allegations, Lil Boosie could be facing up to five more years in prison, according to AllHipHop.com. If found guilty of the murder charge, the consequences could be much more dire.
