Rapper Doe B Killed At Alabama Club

Up and coming rapper Doe B was shot and killed at a nightclub in Alabama over the weekend when shots were fired inside the Montgomery establishment. He was 22.

Doe B. Shot Dead

Along with Doe B, 21-year-old Kimberle Johnson was also killed. Six other patrons of Centennial Hill Bar and Grill sustained gunshot injuries. No suspects have been named in the shooting as of yet, reported CNN.

Before it was the Centennial Hill Bar and Grill, the building where the shooting occurred had been the Rose Supper Club. In December of last year, there was a shooting that left six people injured. The fatal shooting over the weekend has led Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange to mandate that the club close its doors immediately and indefinitely.

"I believe it is not a matter of 'if', but 'when' the next tragic incident occurs at this business," he said in a written statement. "That is unacceptable, and that is why we have ordered the business to be closed effective immediately."

Prior to the fatal shooting, Doe B. had already been on the receiving end of gunfire, according to Billboard. In an earlier shooting, he was hit in the eye and sustained an injury that caused him to wear an eye patch, which became part of his signature look.

Doe B. Signed With T.I's Label

Doe B had been touring Alabama and Atlanta over the last month before his night out at the Montgomery club. He’d been signed to T.I.’s Atlanta-based label Grand Hustle Records. As part of the label, he was featured on the Hustle Gang’s compilation album. The solo mixtape he released over the summer, Baby Jesus, showcased tracks “Let Me Find Out” and “Trap Muzik.”

T.I. and Doe B.’s management took to Twitter upon learning of his death to share their grief and thank fans of the slain rapper for their support.
