Damon Dash, Jay Z’s former business partner and co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, found himself in an unfortunate viral moment with rapper 50 Cent.
While streaming on Instagram Live, a fan asked Dash if he would work with fellow music mogul 50 Cent. The question came days after the rapper took a jab at Dash on the podcast Millon Dollaz Worth Of Game. The rapper reminisced on his 2002 million-dollar deal with Shady Side Records, declaring, “The only person that pointed out a million dollars was no money was Damon Dash, and he has no money now.”
Dash was unbothered by 50 Cents’ remarks, calling him a worthy opponent on his livestream. But his calm demeanor was deteriorated quickly after. “I wanna see if you’re the real deal. See if I’m the real deal,” he added.
Dash’s dig was overshadowed by his teeth falling out on camera. He reacted by stepping out of the frame and sighing, “Oh s—,” before exiting the live.
It did not take long for Dash to return to Instagram to correct the narrative that his teeth had fallen out – he insisted that it was “his grill.”
“I thought it was hilarious,” he said. “I ain’t try to edit it. I think it’s good for jokes and shit.”
Always quick to poke fun at his competitors, 50 Cent posted a humorous video mash-up of the incident, captioning it, “Wow, ya man, teeth fell out his mouth. LOL, what a week. All roads lead to Shreveport; let’s work.”
50 Cent recently testified on Capitol Hill and took pictures with members of Congress.
