Country music singer Randy Travis, 52, officially apologized for his arrest due to public intoxication on the early morning of February 6.

Travis, singer of "Forever and Ever, Amen," was taken into police custody after authorities found him drinking straight from an open bottle of wine while in his parked car outside a church in Sanger, Texas.

At the time, Travis said that he was trying to get back to his ranch, which was 20 miles away, according to the local NBC affiliate. He also revealed that he had fought with his girlfriend prior to the incident.

On Monday, however, Travis had a slightly different story in a statement he released addressing the incident. "I apologize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl," the statement read, reports ABC News. "I'm committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions."

Travis was released a few hours after being booked for the misdemeanor charge.
