Randy Quaid‘s recent vacation will not be released by National Lampoon. Quaid, 59, and wife Evi, 47, have been arrested on charges of felony burglary after being discovered squatting in a home they used to own. The couple claimed to have owned the house since the nineties, but the actual owners provided documentation showing that the Quaids had sold it years before.
The pair were found living in the guest house of their former home in Santa Barbara after the current owners called the sheriff’s department. They are being held responsible for over $5,000 of damage. The house had apparently been abused, with dirty dishes and used clothes strewn everywhere. The couple also apparently destroyed a mirror over the fireplace and replaced it with a family portrait, according to TMZ.
In addition to burglary, the couple are being charged with the misdemeanor of entering a noncommercial building without consent. Evi Quaid was also charged with resisting arrest. Both Quaids are being held on $50,000 bail. The couple went to court this past April for allegedly skipping out on a $10,000 hotel tab. –AMY LEE
