Rage Against The Machine has been rocking across the country, and one of its shows was briefly derailed after the bassist Tom Morello was knocked off the stage. Morello got pushed by a security guard who was pursuing a fan that leaped upon and across the stage.
In a video of the incident, Morello manages to sidestep the fan but is tackled by the security guard and falls completely off the stage into a gap in front. The band’s vocalist Zack de la Rocha soon pauses the music saying “Hold up, hold up,” once he notices it happening.
Morello gets up to cheers from the crowd, but de la Rocha also took the moment to chide the crowd for rushing the stage as the bassist got situated with his instrument again. “Hey, whoever the f––k gets wise like that, don’t try that s––t again,” the vocalist said forcefully.
“I’m sorry, we’re cool. We love y’all, but don’t do that,” de la Rocha added, before the band launched back into its set. As instruments started to build back up, the singer also is heard shouting “Let’s take care of one another, now!”
The band has long been anti-establishment and politically-engaged. They recently responded to the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade with a video segment that included, “Abort The Supreme Court.”
