Rage Against The Machine Drummer Brad Wilk Says The Band Will Not Be ‘Playing Live Again’

After already breaking up one time before, the iconic band Rage Against the Machine has called it quits for the second time.

The band’s drummer, Brad Wilk, confirmed via Instagram that the group will not be getting back together to perform live any time soon.

In a post from January 3, Wilk posted, “While there has been some communication that this may be happening in the future… I want to let you know the RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom and I) will not be touring or playing live again.”

He then goes on to thank fans who have supported the band from the “bottom of my heart.”

Originally, the band’s tour was set to take place in 2020, but Covid-19 caused the group to postpone their concert dates.

In July 2022, the band took the stage for the first time in more than ten years. They played several shows until lead singer Zack de la Rocha tore his Achilles tendon causing the band to reschedule their tour dates, however, these shows have not been completed.

Rage Against The Machine was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November, but the band’s guitarist, Tom Morello, was the only one in attendance at the ceremony.

This is not the first time that the band has broken up. In 2000, the band split when de la Rocha walked away from the group. The rest of the band then worked together to create the group Audioslave.

Rage Against The Machine regrouped in 2007 and performed together until 2011, when they went on official hiatus.
