Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch were on set for the second season of HBO’s hit drama anthology series True Detective in Los Angeles this week.
McAdams and Kitsch, dressed up as their law enforcement characters, matched in ripped jeans, t-shirts and darks shades. McAdam’s costume was completed with a Pittsburgh Steelers hat. The two, with their prop guns resting in their holsters, seemed to be enjoying each others company in between takes of what appeared to be a shootout scene.
In True Detective season 2 – switching gears with a new cast and new location – McAdams, 36, plays the uncompromisingly ethical Ventura Country Sheriff’s detective Ani Bezzerides. Kitsch, 33, plays motorcycle officer and military veteran Paul Woodrugh.
Adams and Kitsch were joined during the day on set by fellow series star, Irish actor Colin Farrell, who plays Detective Ray Velcoro, whose loyalties are conflicted between a corrupt police department and a mobster he’s indebted to. Missing during the LA True Detective shoot was Vince Vaughn, who has taken on the part of career criminal Frank Semyon who’s trying to get into a legitimate business.
Justin Lin (Fast Five) is helming the first pair of episodes in True Detective‘s sophomore season, which was penned by series creator Nic Pizzolatto.
