Rachel Dratch's Debbie Downer Return To 'Saturday Night Live' To Tackle Coronavirus
Rachel Dratch reprised her role as the fan favorite character “Debbie Downer” on this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live while bumming out a table of wedding guests with coronavirus talk.
“Don’t worry none of us are sick, we’re just a little tipsy,” said Aunt Karen played by Aidy Bryant.
Dratch surprised the crowd when she took off her “futuristic” mask: “Well unfortunately, with COVID-19 you can display no symptoms and still be wildly contagious,” she said.

The night’s host, Daniel Craig, played Uncle Gary and asked Debbie if she wanted a drink.
“Oh I don’t want to drink too much. Last time I drank I was almost MeToo’d,” she replied. “I was on one of those ‘just lunch’ dates and choked on a crouton. My date had to give me the Heimlich. He clearly thought the bottom of my rib cage was much higher. #NotBuyingIt.”
She also mentioned Feline AIDS and President Donald Trump, much to the chagrin of the others at the wedding.

Fans were happy to see Dratch back in action, as many figured they saw the last of her on SNL this season when Amy Klobuchar dropped out of the Democratic primary. Dratch has made several cold open appearances this season as the Minnesota senator.
