Rachel Bilson and her longtime boyfriend Hayden Christensen have welcomed a baby girl, whom they've named Briar Rose.

Bilson gave birth to her first child with Christensen on Wednesday, Oct. 29, reports People. “Both mother and baby are healthy and doing well,” Bilson's rep told the magazine. It was also revealed that the couple had chosen to name their daughter after the Disney princess in Sleeping Beauty, Princess Aurora, who is called Briar Rose by the three fairies.

It was confirmed back in May that Bilson and Christensen were expecting. "They've both talked about this for awhile and are so excited," an insider told Us Weekly. "Everyone is beyond thrilled for them."

One of Bilson's friends who shared her excitement about her soon becoming a mom was her Hart of Dixie costar Jaime King. "It's a really celebratory time. I'm really thrilled and happy that she's going to be on this next journey of her life," King said at the Annenberg Space for Photography Exhibit Opening in L.A, adding, "I know she's going to be the best mother."

Prior to her pregnancy, Bilson wasn't shy about wanting to start a family sooner rather than later. "To start a family would be good, any year in the next few years,” she recently told Health magazine. “I've always wanted to be a mom. I have always wanted kids. I can just see this little toddler waddling around the house."

Bilson and Christensen met on the set of Jumper in 2007 and became engaged in 2008. The two broke off their engagement in 2010, but quickly reunited.
