Justin Bieber, 18, must step aside. The biggest YouTube sensation of all-time is not the Canadian pop singer, but rather the South Korean phenomenon Psy, 34. His video Gangnam Style is officially the most watched YouTube video of all time. The novelty sensation of 2012 has received 827 million views on the video sharing site. The view count surpasses Bieber and his 2010 hit Baby, which currently stands at just over 805 million.
To put that in perspective, Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, arguably the greatest rock song of all time has received just over 55 million views. The song was so popular that when native South Korean Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met Psy, he joked he had to relinquish his title as the “most famous Korean.”
It has been an incredible November for the pop star. He won “Best Video” at the MTV Europe Awards where Heidi Klum pronounced him “the undisputed King of Pop.” He later performed with Madonna at her MDNA tour in New York City. The experience, he said, “topped his list of accomplishments.”
