Former Project 2025 director Paul Dans stated that the way President Donald Trump has implemented his vision is beyond his “wildest dreams.”
During an interview with Politico, Dans was asked if there was “any way at all in which what Trump is doing is falling short or diverging from [his] original vision for Project 2025?”

“It’s actually way beyond my wildest dreams. It’s not going to be the easiest road to hoe going forward,” he replied. “The deep state is going to get its breath back here, but the way that they’ve been able to move and kind of upset the orthodoxy, and at the same time really capture the imagination of the people, I think portends a great four years.”
In July 2024, Dans stepped down as the director of Project 2025, a Heritage Foundation initiative created to help Trump in the possible transformation of the federal government right after his victory in the 2024 presidential election.
The campaign forced the conservative operative out of his job as it sought political cover from a controversy engulfing conservatives.
At the time, the manifesto received widespread criticism over its extremist proposals that would demand fealty from federal workers, promote Christian nationalism, continue to restrict abortion, abandon climate-change initiatives and restructure the departments of Justice and Defense.
In an email to colleagues, Dans confirmed he would be stepping down from his role at Heritage Foundation, stating he was leaving in August 2024 to focus his energy on “winning bigly” for conservative candidates during last year’s election cycle.
