Priyanka Chopra’s Brief Appearance In New ‘Baywatch’ Trailer Gets Panned

The producers of the new Baywatch movie have released the second trailer online, and it has everything fans could wanted, except longer scenes of Priyanka Chopra. Chopra has a blink-and-miss appearance in the two-minute trailer, appearing for just two short shots.

The trailer opens with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson playing Mitch Buchannon, the head life guard, with his partner in crime Matt Brody, played by High School Musical star Zac Efron. The trailer focuses mainly on the pair showing off their ripped bodies and action-packed sequences, and includes a shot of Zac disguised as a girl for an undercover operation.

Chopra’s spot in the trailer takes up at most five seconds, much to her fans’ dismay. When Indian fans had raised the issue when the first trailer was released, Johnson had responded, promising them that something special was in store for Chopra. It looks like that “something special” was an extra second of footage in the second trailer.

Dwayne had tweeted promoting the release of the first trailer back in December 2016, addressing the “fans and press in India” specifically.

Chopra, actress and winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant, plays villain Victoria Leeds in the action-comedy film. Whether or not her minimal presence in the trailer was an intentional move or not is yet to be determined.

Directed by Seth Gordon and named after the TV series by the same name, Baywatch will also star Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbachand will feature cameos from the TV show’s stars Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff. It will premiere nationwide on May 26.
