Prince William plans to address “the Prince Andrew problem” that has plagued the British royal family when he becomes king.

“Andrew’s future within the royal family is beyond bleak, since Prince William is firmly opposed to any public rehabilitation with no foreseeable path back,” British royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News. “Prince William has long had a strained and distant relationship with Andrew. [He holds] a grudge against his disgraced uncle.”

Andrew was once second-in-line to the throne, but has been a recurring source of scandals. Andrew permanently damaged his reputation after an interview he had with the BBC in 2019. Andrew gave the interview to address concerns about his ties to convicted trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. His interview backfired when he failed to explain why he remained in contact with Epstein and showed no sympathy for his victims.

William’s strong stance on his decision regarding Andrew is driven by “his desire to protect the monarchy’s reputation,” claimed Fordwich.

The British public shares William’s opinion as a whole. A recent poll found that Andrew is the least favorite royal.

William is also expected to strip his brother, Prince Harry, and wife, Meghan Markle, of their titles.
