Prince Harry Visits Rio, Runs For Charity
It looks like Prince Harry, 27, may have gotten jealous of all the attention Pippa Middleton recently received for skiing for charity in Sweden. The royal may have chosen a more tropical location, but he did follow in Pippa's footsteps and get physical for charity.
Harry completed a six-minute mile in Rio for the charity Sport Relief, according to E! News. During part of the time he donned a cutout paper mask of his brother Prince William, who is still in the Falkland Islands for Royal Air Force training. It was just a chance for the younger Harry to publically poke fun at William, as both brothers are wont to do.
He even carried the jab into a speech he later gave, while also paying a compliment to the city hosting him, which will also serve as the location of the 2016 Olympic games. "Everything about Rio makes you want to dance," he said. "I'm just so thankful that my brother isn't here because he might actually do it … and that would not be cool."
Much cooler are the reasons behind Harry's visit to Brazil as part of the Great Initiative campaign, which aims to encourage tourism and business in Britain, as well as promote the London 2012 Olympics, which begin in July. His royal jaunt is also part of a diplomatic 10-day Diamond Jubilee Tour, in which he is bravely representing his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in her celebration for 60 years on the throne.
