Prince Harry Says ‘Archnemesis’ Prince William ‘Knocked Him To Floor’ In Fight Over Meghan Markle

It seems like Prince Harry‘s upcoming memoir, Spare, will not disappoint on the royal family drama front.

The book doesn’t come out until next week, but the wild stories are already spreading quickly; the Duke of Sussex apparently claims in one chapter that he and his brother William had a brutal physical fight over Harry’s wife and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

According to Harry’s memoir, the famous brothers’ violent 2019 argument began when William described Meghan as “abrasive,” “difficult” and “rude.”

Things only escalated from there.

Harry recalls in the book, “He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast.”

“He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor,” he wrote. “I landed on the dogs’ bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

Harry alleges that William seemed “regretful” and asked him not to tell Meghan about the incident.

Instead of speaking with his wife, Harry says he talked to his therapist about the fight. “We’d had a million physical fights in our lives, I told her,” he wrote. “As boys, we’d done nothing but fight. But this felt different.”

Harry also notably calls William both his “archnemesis” and “beloved brother” in the book.

Harry and Meghan announced their departure from the royal family back in 2020, and they’ve previously been open about the difficulties they faced before their exit.

In the couple’s 2022 Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, Harry cited invasive and offensive British media as a contributing factor to Meghan’s subsequent suicidal thoughts and miscarriage.

Meghan revealed to Oprah Winfrey in 2021 that she wasn’t able to get any help for her mental illness at the time because there were more concerns about the image of the family than her well-being.

Spare will be available for purchase on January 10.
