Prince William isn't the only royal with reason to celebrate. His younger brother Prince Harry, 26, who is third in line to the throne of England, was promoted to Air Corps Captain in the British Army on Thursday after completing five years of military service, including a recent eight-month course in night flying. His official title will henceforth be Capt. Harry Wales.
The young prince, who will serve as best man at his brother's highly anticipated wedding on April 29, was awarded the prestigious Apache Badge, which will qualify him for training as an Apache helicopter pilot.
Prince Harry is serious about his service. During a 10-week tour of Afghanistan in 2007, he became the first royal in 25 years to serve in a war zone. Now he is eager to return to active duty, because "you turn a really costly asset" with the training," he told BBC. He will be based at Wattisham Airfield in Suffolk, England for the next phase of his training. —KIMBERLY STEELE
