Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Africa Tour Details Released, Ellen DeGeneres Talks Meeting The Royal Family

Buckingham Palace as released the tour itinerary for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s Africa tour coming up this fall, carried out at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, in Angola.

The Royal Duke and Duchess of Sussex will undertake a ten-day tour from September 23 to October 2. They will spend the first three days in Cape Town, South Africa before Harry travels to Kasane, Botswana alone for a one-day private working visit.

Afterwards, Harry will then spend two days in Dirico, Huambo and Luanda before heading to Malawi where he will be reunited with wife Meghan and son, Archie. The couple will end their tour in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Baby Archie is expected to make a couple official appearances while on tour.

Following the announcement, Ellen DeGeneres spoke about her own experience meeting with the royal family this summer on her popular talkshow.

“Here’’s a sentence I never thought I would say, but I spent the afternoon with Prince Harry and Meghan. I just want to say it was an honor for them to meet me.” the star joked.

But, all kidding aside Degeneres praised their character saying, “They’re just two of the most down to earth and compassionate people. They’re doing so much good for the world.”

In addition, Degeneres had the opportunity to meet baby Archie which she had a few jokes about as well.

“I can’t tell you how sweet they are, but the most important thing is I got to hold little Archie, the baby,” she shares. “I fed Archie, I held Archie… He weighs 15 pounds, which the exchange rate, I believe is $17.”

Degeneres then went on to share a drawn picture of the newborn royal as she expected her audience to “want to see a picture of him.”

Degeneres also alluded to a potential charitable collaboration between herself and the Duke and Duchess. “Portia and I talked to them about all the conservation they’re doing for wildlife and they’re doing all this work in Botswana for elephants and I love that. And they like what I’m doing for the gorillas in Rwanda, so we’re all going to do something together.”
