Prince Harry & Meghan Markle To Be Stripped Of All Remaining Royal Titles While Palace Braces For Oprah Interview

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to give an interview with their friend Oprah Winfrey as it was reported that the couple will probably be stripped of all their remaining royal titles next month, when the terms of their exit package from the royal family will be reviewed on March 31.

Insiders at Buckingham Palace revealed that they believe that the interview, airing on CBS March 7, was organized so the expecting couple could “see the direction of travel,” as to their future duties.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are almost certain that the crown will ask them to step down from all remaining links with any organizations connected to the royal family. Harry would have to give up his three remaining honorary military titles and his role in the London Marathon. Meghan would be asked to step away as a patron of the National Theatre.

Insiders stated that Buckingham Palace was not aware that the interview with Oprah was occurring in advance but since the couple are no longer working members of the royal family, they are “under no obligation” to inform the palace of any “media commitments.”

While it is unlikely that the interview will shine a negative light on the monarchy like Prince Andrew’s 2019 interview or Princess Diana’s 1995 tell all, there is still that air of possibility that the couple could reveal feelings about sexism and racism in the palace that may be unflattering.

In 2019, Oprah and Harry announced that they were teaming up for a mental health documentary, a year after the talkshow host attended their wedding.

Harry and Megan announced on Valentine’s Day that they were expecting their second child together.
