Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Banned From Raising Money For Their Archewell Charity After It Is Declared ‘Delinquent’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s charity was declared delinquent after the couple failed to pay registration fees or submit an annual report on time. California Attorney General Rob Bonta (D) reviewed Archewell Foundation’s information and saw that it was incomplete. The foundation’s last renewal was dated May 2023.

Archewell submitted a check that got lost in the mail and has sent another payment. Bonta’s issue of a delinquency notice means the charity is unable to raise or any spend money until the issues are resolved.

According to the notice, “An organization that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds.”

Archewell Foundation will now have to pay late fees and provide reasoning for overdue payments. The charity was founded in 2020 after Prince Harry and Markle left the royal family to live in California. Archewell Foundation’s mission statement is, “Show up, do good.”

Recently, the couple took a three-day trip to Nigeria to support causes backed by Archewell Foundation. Prince Harry and Markle announced that their charity would provide mental health services for young men and women on top of their preexisting program to provide menstrual products in Nigeria.

In April, the couple attended a charity polo tournament in Miami, Florida. At the event, Markle was captured in an awkward exchange with a woman, asking her to move away from her husband on stage.

Harry is the subject of numerous lawsuits by a conservative group that is trying to get him deported for allegedly lying about drug use on his visa application.
