Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Feel Issues Addressed in Oprah Interview Were Ignored By Royal Family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have expressed disappointment with the Royal family, as they feel certain concerns they brought up were ignored. The couple participated in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, mentioning that a member of the royal family was racist and that the family failed to offer Markle support when she was suicidal. The racist individual was not named but was confirmed to not be the Queen or Prince Phillip.

Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and The Making of a Modern Royal Family is a book centered around the lives of Prince Harry and Markle. Although it was originally released one year ago, it is set to release in the paperback version on Aug. 31. Omid Scobie, a co-author of the work, recently spoke to People Magazine about the book. People Magazine also debuted a new epilogue to the published work in their Aug 30, 2021 issue.

Scobie explained that Prince Harry and Markle are now looking to better society, in part through the Archwell Foundation. They will also look to complete other charitable activities in person.

“They’re a couple who do very well in those moments of human interaction. They need to be on the ground,” said Scobie. “They say that the proof is in the pudding, and what we are about to see is that pudding.”

The new epilogue published by People gave insight into the couple’s reactions to an official comment by the royal family. “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” read the official royal response. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”

The newly released epilogue to Finding Freedom drew from anonymous sources who were close to Markle and the prince. “The Queen’s ‘recollections may vary’ comment ‘did not go unnoticed’ by the couple, who a close source said were ‘not surprised’ that full ownership was not taken. ‘Months later and little accountability has been taken,’ a pal of Meghan added. ‘How can you move forward with that?'”
