Freeform, previously known as ABC Family, aired its final episode of Pretty Little Liars after seven seasons Tuesday night. After seven years of the teen drama mystery-thriller, the end of its era was an emotional night for viewers as well as the cast.

The series has been a huge success since its premiere on June 8, 2010. Fans quickly felt connected to the five high school girls’ unbreakable bond as they solve one mystery after another caused by an anonymous antagonist, “A.”

Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, Troian Bellisario, Sasha Pieterse and Lucy Hale were live tweeting during the finale along with PLL‘s favorite bad boys, Tyler Blackburn and Keegan Allen. Fans were able to hashtag #PLLChat and #PLLFinale to ask the cast members questions regarding the show and finale.

Each of the actresses posted heartfelt goodbyes that were sure to make long-time fans tear up. Show developer, Marlene King shared her goodbye as well.

Hale, also known as Aria Montgomery on the show, recently spilled the news that she will be continuing her next chapter on The CW’s new television series, Life Sentence. Mitchell noted that she will be taking time off for herself with a vacation.

The finale had closure for all, a wedding for Aria and Ezra Fitz, babies for Allison and Emily, the unmasking of the more recent antagonist A.D, and the death of Wren Kingston.
