Famous sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, Pippa Middleton, 28, is in some hot water after she was photographed in Paris over the weekend in a convertible Audi with three fellow male companions. The problem: one of them was pointing what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun at the photographer.
"Perhaps they were being pursued, perhaps they were angry, perhaps they were just showing off, but it certainly doesn't look good, Royal Correspondent Camilla Tominey told Today, especially since recent gun attacks in France have left seven people dead and security against gun violence enhanced in Paris.
Use of a gun to "warn people off" is considered "absolutely forbidden" in Paris, a police source told Us Weekly. "If someone has a license then for a weapon then it must be kept covered at all times and way from members of the public," the source stated.
The Paris Judicial Police are reportedly "poised" to launch an investigation into the incident, and all four people present in the vehicle could face arrest and potential jail time. "If the evidence points to [Pippa Middleton's] involvement, she will be prosecuted," a judicial source told the magazine. "Anybody involved in the illegal use of a handgun in public is liable to arrest and interrogation."
One of the people present in the car was Middleton's friend, fashion mogul Arthur de Soultrait, but the man who was actually brandishing the gun remains unidentified.
