Piers Morgan has revealed that he turned down about 20 jobs before deciding to return to television on a show on Rupert Murdoch‘s News Corp new channel which is set to launch in 2022.
The presenter quit his former job on Good Morning Britain in March following a controversy surrounding comments he made about Meghan Markle‘s mental health. His new show will be airing in the United States, Britain and Australia.
Morgan told The Sun that he turned down about 20 job offers, but decided to go with News Corp. In addition to hosting his own show he is set to write columns for The Sun and The New York Post.
“It’s a big move, and a hugely exciting one,” he told The Sun. “News Corp is a company that believes in free speech and doesn’t sign up to cancel culture or pander to the woke brigade. Everyone there has tough skins and won’t succumb to pressure from Twitter or anything else.”
“Piers is a brilliant presenter, a talented journalist and says what people are thinking and feeling,” Murdoch told The Sun. “He has many passionate fans around the world and we look forward to expanding his audience in the U.K., at FOX Nation, Sky News Australia, The Sun and the New York Post.”
The new channel will be offering current affairs, entertainment, sports, documentaries and debate.
