Wu, who outfitted the First Lady for the President's first inaugural ball, has become a household name since that day four years ago. Last night, Obama stunned in his chiffon and velvet halter paired with red Jimmy Choo pumps and her new bangs. While many were speculating that the First Lady would opt to wear a new up and coming designer, she decided to stick with what she knew. Although, she did wear Thom Browne, a designer better known for his menswear, for her Inaugural Day outfit.

Obama's choice of red isn't as common among first ladies as one might imagine. And her choice to go sleeveless is even less common. Traditionally, the most popular color chosen is white or off-white, with blue and yellow as runner-ups. At the last inaugural ball, Obama wore a romantic one-shouldered off-white gown designed by Wu. At George W. Bush's second inaugural ball, Laura Bush wore a light-blue long-sleeved gown. Hillary Clinton wore a long-sleeved lace blue gown and a sparkling gold gown for Bill Clinton's first and second inaugural ball, respectively.

While wearing her glamorous gown, Obama and the President danced to Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," as sung by Jennifer Hudson. Obama's outfit will be donated in its entirety to the National Archives, where the gowns of first ladies past are currently on display.
