Photographer Spencer Tunick recruited over 100 women to pose with mirrors in Cleveland near the site of the Republic National Convention in protest of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his rhetoric in regard to women.
On Sunday night, the night before the Republic National Convention commenced, 130 women who answered Tunick’s call gathered for a nude sunrise shoot on private property that is in view of the arena that is hosting the RNC. Tunick’s goal was to create a powerful piece of art that would shed light on Trump’s disqualifying traits that make him unfit to become the next president of the United States.
As Tunick succinctly put it, “He is a loser.”
Tunick’s final product will be a picture entitled “Everything She Says Means Everything.” It will feature 100 of the 130 women of all shapes, sizes and colors holding up mirrors that are facing the arena. Explaining the meaning behind the mirrors and the models’ nudity, Tunick said that the imagery, reflects “the knowledge and wisdom of progressive women and the concept of ‘Mother nature’… onto the convention center, cityscape and horizon of Cleveland.”
For Tunick, “Everything She Says Means Everything” will mark his most overtly political work to date. Trump’s candidacy proved so dangerous to Tunick that he had to do more than his basic duty as an American citizen.
“I have two daughters and a wife,” Tunick told the AFP. “I can’t believe the language and rhetoric of hate against women and minorities coming from the Republican Party.”
