Get ready to be bombarded with cast footage and various teasers for the new Superman movie, Man of Steel, starring relative silver screen unknown Henry Cavill, 28, who was previously best known for his role as Charles Brandon on Showtime's The Tudors.

The movie is not slated for release until two summers from now, and is just on the verge of kicking off filming, but that hasn't stopped production company Warner Bros. from releasing its first still shot of Cavill, standing outside a giant exploding bank vault and donning the hunky new Superman suit – complete with a new rippled, armor-like texture, plus the old red cape and iconic "S" that serves the dual purpose of identifying the superhero and emphasizing the broadness of his chest.

The filmmaking enterprise, helmed by 300 and Watchman's Zack Snyder, will re-envision the legendary man of steel with a whole new cast, including Amy Adams as Superman / Clark Kent's savvy reporter love interest, Lois Lane, and former CSI star Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, the energetic editor of The Daily Planet. Russell Crowe and Julia Ormond will play Superman's ill-fated Kryptonian parents, who send him out into the universe upon the destruction of their beloved planet, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner will play the Kents, Martha and Jonathan, who take in the otherworldly infant and raise him as their own.

Another big name on the project is director Christopher Nolan, who serves as one of the writers and producers for the film. Nolan's no stranger to superhero flicks. He directed the last two Batman films, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, both starring Christian Bale. He is currently filming The Dark Knight Rises, which will release on July 20, 2012, less than one year before the big Man of Steel release on June 14, 2013.
