The second season of Glee premiered on Tuesday at 8 p.m. on Fox, attracting 12.3 million viewers. The hit show’s stars Lea Michele and Cory Montieth (above) posed at a press photo shoot to promote the season, which promises a new foil for Emmy winner Jane Lynch‘s Sue Sylvester, the return of Finn-el, the romance between Michele’s Rachel Barry and Monteith’s Finn Hudson, and more huge musical numbers (including a guest appearance from Britney Spears).
The show’s cast had been tweeting nonstop in anticipation of the premiere. Last week, Montieth posted "I’m reeeeeeally excited for you all to see some new episodes of #Glee!!!! only a few more days…. :)" on his Twitter page, while Michele tweeted the morning of the show, "Just woke up and SO excited for glee tonight!!!! Now off to work for more Rocky Horror fun!!" Naya Rivera, who plays Santana on the show, also added, "Glee is on tonight!! Whoooo!!"
The show averaged just under 10 million viewers last season.–ISHITA SINGH
