Pete Davidson Taking Break From Filming ‘Bupkis’ After Rumored On-Set Meltdown

Pete Davidson is briefly stepping back from filming the semi-autobiographical Peacock series Bupkis after he allegedly suffered a “meltdown” in his trailer while shooting in New York City.

An anonymous source told The U.S. Sun that Davidson tossed several items around and he reportedly, “also threw coffee on the walls and folded a TV in half inside this trailer.”

The comedian is acting alongside Joe Pesci, who is playing his onscreen grandfather, for this sitcom series first greenlit by the NBC streamer back in April of this year.

Other cast members include Edie Falco, cast as his mother, Charlie Day, as well as sitcom veterans Ray Romano and Brad Garrett.

He co-wrote the show with Judah Miller and Dave Sirus, and it is described as “a heightened, fictionalized version of Pete Davidson’s real life.”

Davidson has talked about his upbringing in Staten Island at length in his comedy, and also co-wrote the film The King of Staten Island with Sirus and Judd Apatow.

One of his most infamous jokes about his childhood came from the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber.

In an example of dark comedy that truly should be taught in schools, Davidson cracked to Bieber, “Justin, you know, I lost my dad on 9/11. And I always regretted growing up without a Dad, until I met your dad, Justin. Now I’m glad mine’s dead.”

It’s unclear what motivated this outburst. Davidson recently went through a break-up with Kim Kardashian, but it has been suggested by sources that this split was amicable.

Davidson has been open about his physical and mental health issues, saying he was diagnosed with the digestive disease Crohn’s Disease when he was 18. He was also reportedly diagnosed with borderline personality disorder around 2017 when he shared the information on WTF with Marc Maron.
