Pete Davidson Reveals ‘Horrible’ Process Of ‘Burning Off’ 200 Tattoos On His Body, Including Ones Of Hillary Clinton & Harry Potter

Actor Pete Davidson revealed that he is removing hundreds of tattoos from his body, all in the name of a clean slate.

“They got to burn off a layer of your skin, and then it has to heal for like six to eight weeks,” Davidson told The Tonight Show of the prolonged process, calling it “horrible” to go through. “You can’t go out in the sunlight, and then you gotta do it like 12 more times. So think about that Game of Thrones tattoo you’re considering getting, alright?” he

Davidson added that he intended to keep two or three of his tattoos while trying to start with a clean slate, noting that he was sad as a child and gained inspiration from rapper Post Malone for his collection. Now, as he enters his 30s, he aims to be an adult. Davidson’s former tattoos pay tribute to ex-girlfriends, Hilary Clinton and, surprisingly, Harry Potter.

It is unclear which method Davidson has undergone. Tattoo removal falls into different categories, with the most common being ablative, which involves lasers burning off the top layer of the skin, which matches Davidson’s previous description.

Davidson’s appearance on The Tonight Show to discuss the Peacock docuseries 50 Years of SNL, which explores the history of the sketch comedy-commentary show, led to a discussion of his tattoos while he spoke about his time and experience on the set with cast members. During his time on SNL, Davidson once implored show creator Lorne Michaels to give him the axe after publicly speaking about suffering from imposter syndrome.

“After my first year, I called for a meeting with Lorne. I was like, ‘Please fire me,'” Davidson recalled in the documentary, “I was like, ‘I don’t belong here. Everybody here is so talented, and they don’t want to be my friend.’ I was a child.”

Despite his fears and anxiety, Michaels reassured him, “You don’t figure it out until your third or fourth year,” added Davidson, “It would suck for like three or four years, and he was right.”
