Perrie Edwards Loves Boyfriend Zayn Malik’s Tattoo Of Her

Perrie Edwards, One Direction singer Zayn Malik’s longtime girlfriend, adores her Malik’s tattoo of her likeness that stretches across his right bicep.

Malik got the tattoo earlier this summer, and was met with a fair amount of criticism for immortalizing his relatively young love with permanent body art. Edwards, however, is a complete fan of the ink. "It must be love, to be honest," Perrie Edwards told omg! Insider.

"When I'm away from him, I guess he can just take a look at his arm and remind him of me," Edwards suggested. "So it's a lovely compliment, really. I love it, it's lovely."

When Malik had the piece done in Maryland at Tattooed Heart Studios, a fellow patron of the tattoo parlor snapped some pictures of the famous singer. Quickly, the Internet erupted in speculation that the tattoo in the photograph was meant to be Edwards. Eventually, the tattoo artist that inked Malik, confirmed the rumors.

"He was like, 'I really want this and I'd like you to do it'," John Garancheski told MTV at the time. "He showed me a picture of his girlfriend, Perrie, and he was like 'I kind of want it to look like her, but not to be her, to kind of be like a comic-style version of her.'"

Malik and Edwards, a member of British girl group Little Mix, have been dating since 2011.
