Penelope Cruz presented her new film – which will be dedicated to researching childhood leukemia – at Viceroy Headquarters in Madrid, Spain, on Thursday.
Cruz donned a burgundy, black and white tweed high-neck dress from Chanel’s Fall 2015 collection for the occasion. She completed the look with black Chanel pumps.
Speaking about her documentary on childhood leukemia, Cruz said, “My goal is to raise awareness about this sensitive issue,” the 41-year-old Spanish actress said during the project unveiling. “I will soon meet the children. Some have beaten the disease, others are working on it. I will just be an observer and it will be they who tell the world what is happening,” she said.
“Of course it will be hard because I will be spending time with many children who are dealing with this. They are children who are going to share with me how horrible what is happening is,” Cruz added. “Everything that has to do with children if we can help, even if it is just a little bit, will make me very happy.”
Cruz, who has two children with her husband Javier Bardem, currently stars in the Spanish film Ma Ma, written and directed by Julio Medem. In the drama, Cruz plays a woman who experiences life in a new way following a tragedy.
